Experiences with “Honorary Bridesmaids”?

Hi all! Just got engaged, planning to be married august 2022. :)I have about 6 people I would love to have as bridesmaids. My fiancé has literally one man that he really cares to have as a groomsman. I don’t want him find “fillers”, so it seems like the easiest thing to do is just have a MOH (which is easy to pick because I have one sister) and a best man (his best friend who he’s known since childhood). Also, most if the people I would want as bridesmaids are working moms and honestly I don’t want them to feel any kind of obligation when it comes to duties for my wedding.I’m thinking of asking them to be “honorary bridesmaids”, which basically entails:Doing fun things like going wedding dress shopping.Participating in planning/prepping to the extent that is fun for them. (My goal is to have very little work in planning or on the day of that needs to be done by family/friends).Getting ready with me, if they choose.Getting a corsage.Does not include: 1. Walking down the aisle. 2. Having to coordinate outfits. 3. Having to pose for wedding party pics.Has anyone done this? Knowing my girls, I think they’ll think it’s a fabulous idea. I’ve never really even heard of it before or seen it done though so I’m just looking for any experiences you may have :). via /r/weddingplanning https://ift.tt/3ntOD4f
