Cake guy has ghosted us, advice needed!

Hi all! So I am getting married in 18 days and as the title says, our cake guy has totally ghosted us and isn’t responding to emails. He’s always ignoring our emails and chasing him up is always needed, kept giving us different prices, over charging us for cake trays, never sent us an invoice or contract and was going to charge us for something we no longer needed. So my fiancé emailed him saying that he wasn’t filling us with confidence and if he didn’t get back to us with the proper amount we owe him, we would want our deposit back. Final payment was due on the 13th of October and we have since emailed him again to chase him up. He’s ignored us. Are we entitled to the £100 deposit back? There was never any contract from him (despite me asking for one) and if he’s ghosting us, we aren’t getting a service from him anymore so how can he keep our money? I know it’s only 100 so could be a lot worse but its also still money that could go to something else!
