Suggestions for dress alterations?

Hello fellow Wedditors!I am a June bride who’s really bad at wedding stuff, seeking advice about how to do alterations for my dress. I got my dress (BHLDN Placid, picture on my profile) last September. I tried it on for the first time since then today and realized I had lost a bit of weight since then, and plan to lose a bit more before the big day.(Just wanted to interject and say this isn’t a weight loss post, I gained a bunch of weight after a health issue, that is now slowly falling off after a surgery and medication change)Basically, my dress was purchased a bit too big and will likely even bigger by the wedding in June. When do I take it to start alterations? Do you guys have any work arounds for saving money on alterations? Obviously it’s not something I want to totally cheap out on but the lady the salon recommended charges as much as my dress cost, which feels like a lotI won’t need anything major, just taking in and fitting to my own form, maybe shorten the hem by like an inch or two. Is this something I can just take to a tailor? Thanks in advance! via /r/weddingplanning https://ift.tt/38HCT86
