I am having a hard time grappling with the cost and stress of a wedding. Our initial 10k budget and 100 person guest list has ballooned over expectations. It is starting to feel more like an expensive family reunion than a celebration of us. I wanted to elope, but my fiancé got swept away with a specific venue, but hasn’t helped contribute with wedding planning (besides saying yay or nay to ideas and deciding on the venue). My fiancé’s reluctance to assist with planning, my parents wanting to invite all the extended family (inviting people when we told them most aunts, uncles, cousins won’t be invited), and the financial burden of a wedding is making cancelling more alluring.I’m considering eloping with the understanding we will lose our deposits.Is it really worth thousands to tens of thousands of dollars and months of planning for one night? via /r/weddingplanning https://ift.tt/3sjP1DP
