My fiancé and I are getting married in February. I’m really debating whether or not we should get a DJ for the reception. Initially I was not planning on it, my plan was to make a Spotify playlist full of music we love (I’m also going to be asking for song requests with guests’ RSVPs), and just let that play through the dance. My younger brother got married 3 years ago and they did exactly that, and the dance was tons of fun! But now I’m second guessing it. Here are my pros and cons, and I’d love some input/opinions too!Pros:don’t have to take the time/effort to curate a playlist and put songs in a good flow/ordera couple companies I’ve looked at will also provide MC services. We don’t have a great option for an MC, all our close friends/family are either part of our wedding party or very shya good variety of musicCons:cost- I haven’t priced much out, but I know it’s going to cost a fair amount. I haven’t talked with my fiancé or parents about budget yet, since I’m just starting to think about a DJpotential to play music we don’t love? I know you can give a list of songs we absolutely don’t want to hear, so maybe that’s not a real issueMore details: my sister and her husband are very talented musically, so I am planning on asking them to play our first dance and possibly father daughter dance songs (piano/guitar/singing). Not sure if that is relevant to the DJ question.I’d love some input! I’m in the southern Ontario area so if anyone can give me some ideas of prices I can expect, I’d appreciate that as well. via /r/weddingplanning https://ift.tt/3pjiJdc
