TL;DR – I bought my wedding dress over a year ago, it no longer fits and I don’t think I love it anymore. I’m looking for a glimmer of hope that I can either exchange it for the right size or get store credit to go towards the one that I love. This is kind of a lot to go through, but I would really appreciate any help.I bought my wedding dress from David’s Bridal in Feb 2020, our original wedding date would have been Feb 2021 but we had to push it back due to Covid and I got pregnant and had my baby in December (unplanned, didn’t think we could have kids). Fast forward to this week. I tried on my dress. It’s now about 5 inches too small at the bust because baby weight and I’m breastfeeding. I’m really upset and didn’t have the receipt, so I call DB to see if they can exchange sizes. They say no. I find the receipt for the dress and call them back, hoping that they can exchange sizes or let me return it for store credit….something. They say it isn’t possible because I bought it so long ago AND I’ve passed my original wedding/event date so it’s now “closed out” in their system, even though I rescheduled. We make an appointment for alterations to see what can be done. I’ve gone up like 3 cup sizes so I don’t think there’s any hope there. The manager insists that I just come in so they can see what alterations can do. I'm worried alterations are going to be super expensive for what I need done.I’m super bummed because now that I look back at the pictures, I don’t know that I truly *love* the dress I bought. So I feel stuck. I found the style that I originally fell in love with on their website and the store has it in stock, but I can’t justify buying it unless I can get money back for the original to offset the cost ($750 vs. $1050).Has anyone gone through this with David’s Bridal? Is there any hope that the managers can find a loophole to get me store credit or at least a size exchange?(Pictured: dress I have vs. dress I want…)My dress, DB WG3830DB WG4007 via /r/weddingplanning https://ift.tt/3rQ8bAE
