Shoutout for Wedding Insurance

I’ll preface by saying I’m in Australia, so it may not be applicable to all. I started planning my wedding in October 2019 for August 2021. I live in south east Queensland and the wedding venue was on the NSW north coast (about two hours south from where I live). We bought wedding insurance at the start of 2020 because of the fires we’d seen, so many brides posting in local Facebook groups in despair because their venue burned down the week before the wedding.Four weeks before our wedding, the QLD/NSW border closed due to the Covid outbreak in NSW. It became obvious that we wouldn’t be able to get married at our venue. So in the space of four weeks I replanned our entire wedding (I actually did so twice, as a week out half our vendors were no longer allowed in the border zone).Thank god for wedding insurance. I honestly didn’t think we’d get anything back because I didn’t follow the rules to a T (I was in a bit of a rush so didn’t get approval from them before changing everything). But they’ve come back paying out 75% of our claim. We’d written this money off so it’s a huge bonus for us.We ended up having an amazing day, sadly none of my husbands family could come (all in WA) and half my family were stuck in Victoria, but we had all our friends and family in QLD there and everyone else tuning in remotely. We did consider rescheduling but decided we just didn’t want the stress of it.So I just wanted to give a shout-out for wedding insurance because in our case it was money well spent. via /r/weddingplanning https://ift.tt/2ZtWnL2
